Easter

Well, Easter was so fun. My kids had 3 days of it. On Friday we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Morgan's and had an Easter Egg Hunt. There were TONS of eggs. The kids had a great time finding the eggs. Ari and Isabel had fun looking for about 5 or 10 mins., then they just wanted to swing. After the egg hunt all the kids had fun playing on the swing set. Ari did get tired and was pleasant (ha ha) at lunch time. On Saturday, we had another egg hunt and Grandma and Grandpa Smoot's house. First we dyed some eggs. Ari dyed her hand red. The kids enjoyed watching the eggs change colors. Then we went out and hunted for real and plastic stuffed eggs. Even little Kale was picking up eggs. It was fun to see them all excited about finding eggs. After that we had a BBQ with Chris and Jen. It was so fun. The boys were able to use the table they made. (Last time we got together they made a bbq table from our wood scraps...it actually turned out really well.) Grandpa Morgan came down too. Adam was so excited! When he saw him pull up outside, he shouted, "It's Grandpa...I knew he would come!" Then ran to the door and unlocked it and pulled and pulled to get it open. Then he ran downstairs and lugged his trains upstairs to play trains with Grandpa. It was a treat to both kids to have Grandpa come. Sunday was Easter. We had early church so we got the kids dressed up and went to church. After church, we got some cookies from our neighbors. They crushed some nuts in the cookies, they hid it so well I couldn't tell. So needless to say when it was nap time, I started getting all itchy and then my throat started to swell. Luckily we had one benedryl left. So that helped. After naps, we looked at the baskets the Easter Bunny brought. (Both kids got their own beach towel.) We had dinner with my family. For dessert we made mud cups with gummy worms. They were good. Unfortunately the benedryl started wearing off so we had to run to the store to get more. By Monday afternoon, I was off the benedryl. :) Anyway, but we had a great Easter!

We really did have a blast for Easter. To comment on Ari's red hand, we turned our heads for maybe 30 seconds and we turned back and saw a very proud Ari holding an egg in her hand. She had just reached into the cup of die and pulled out the egg herself and her hand was bright red. The kids also loved having Kale there at the egg hunt and kept trying to give/take his Easter eggs. :P

** Sieben commented "I love the new site. I am just now beginning to read your blogs and stuff, but it is great to read the blogs and reflect on the fun times." **

** Moo commented "I added lots of pictures to the gallery of Easter, and was going to add them right here so you could see them...but they all showed up black but this one...so I'll have to do some investigation and see what happened. As soon as I can I'll try and get them up in both places!" **

St. Patty's Day

We had so much fun yesterday. We went over to Grandma Smoot's house at 9 and found out the leprechauns had been there. For breakfast we had green eggs and ham...and green milk. Adam didn't want to touch anything that was green. Then Emily and Matt helped Adam and Ari (and Matt's nephew, Dale) follow the little green footprints to find the pot of gold the leprechauns had left. In the pot were some toys and treats. The kids were SO excited to find the treasure. It was fun to see them so excited over the treasure. I still think too that Adam was SO funny dancing around all excited. Ari was excited to get the treats...go figure..."Miss Candy-holic." Also for dinner we had green jello, green bean casserole and corn on the cob. For the family home evening game we played "Duck, Duck, Goose." Ari was so funny. She would go around the circle and say, "duck, duck, DUCK!" and then run and run and giggle and giggle. It was fun. Adam also really enjoyed "duck, duck, goose." (He chose the game.) :p Welp...Hope you all had a GREAT St. Patty's Day. Now it's time to get ready for EASTER!!! :)

Watch out...Mommy's blogging!

So, a quick story. Today we went to visit the Morgans. Grandpa went down and played with the kids. When they came up for dinner, Adam brought up a toy pitcher and a honey bear. He told us it was "hot cheeks." We couldn't quite figure out what he meant. Grandpa told us that while they were playing, Adam had brought it to him and since he didn't know what Adam wanted it to be, he just pretended to take a drink and then pretended it was too hot and patted his cheeks to cool it down. So Adam brought it up to dinner, and during dinner he did the same thing patting/pinching his own cheeks. It was funny. So then I asked him if it was Hot Cocoa, he said no he couldn't find the sugar to go in it so it was just "hot cheeks." It was funny. We all laughed. It was awesome. And too be fair...Ari is saying lots more words. All night she kept following Grandpa around saying, "hep"(help) "peas"(please) and "up." She was funny. Just "hep...hep....hep..." for everything. So we just kept asking her to use her words to tell us WHAT she needed help with. Well....nuf blogging....more stories when I get them! ;)

I also forgot to add that Ari went around from plate to plate at dinner and ate everyone's sausages...It was funny she ate all hers, then Jen's then grandpa's and then Adam's. She REALLY liked the sausage!

Howdy!

Hi everyone! I haven't blogged in a bit so of course no stories are being saved via hard drive...just via brains. (and well you know how well mine is working .... I lose more and more with each kid) However...Ari now graduated to a toddler bed. She figured out how to climb out...big surprise from our little monkey! :p Then today, Adam snapped off the part of the crib that keeps the front rail on...so needless to say we had to convert for safety reasons. Both kids are doing well. Ari got over her croup after 4 breathing treatments. That much steroids in that small a girl and man was she wired! But she is good now. Both kids have loved the warm weather and being outside some the last few days. We are NOT looking forward to the upcoming snow storms. As far as we are concerned...it can move on to Spring and then SUMMER!!! Jon is doing well...just getting ready to present his Senior project. He is really stressed and we will be glad when that is over! Then he'll take the summer off from school so we can do some playing before he finishes in the fall. So by December 2008 (this year) he should be all done!!! YEA!! Our other exciting news is...we got a new car! Now I have something to get around in. We bought a Mercury Mountaineer. It has AWD :) great for camping. It seats 7 so now we can take extra people with us. Anyway we love the car. Adam calls it our truck. He was so excited when we got back from getting it. He climbed in and just started jabbering away about how great it was. (We can have everyone ride with us..they can sit here or back there or up there... and we can go camping and put fishing stuff in here...) It was cute how much he just loved it. I also love that it has heated seats and dual air control... :p I always like it warmer than Jon, so it works out for us. Welp...nuff for now...
