Primary Program
So today was our Primary Program. It actually went really well. I was pleased. We were so proud of Adam for actually saying his part. But I do have to tell you about it. ;) So when they gave him his part a couple weeks ago, he memorized it that same Sunday. He also practiced saying it and telling people his part. However, everytime we practiced in Primary he would hide and not do it. So needless to say I was definitely worried that come the program. He would hide and not do it.
So last night, Jon and Adam had a pep talk before he went to bed. Adam told Jon that he was really scared of all the people. So Jon told him we could say a prayer that he would be able to do his part. Adam then asked if he could say it with his eyes closed. Jon said he could, as long as he said his part so everyone could hear. He then went to bed.
This morning we got ready and over to the church. We first had to persuade Adam that it was okay to be on the stand since he got the coolest spot (opposite the controls for the podium...so he could watch the counselor push the buttons. Which he did...I think he could run it now. :D ) He actually did really well sitting there, for the most part...hey he is just 4. Anyway, he had the very first part after the Primary President introduced the program. He got up to the mic and looked out. Turned and hid his face for a second on the counselor and then asked her if he could cover his eyes. She said yes. So he put one hand over each eye, turned and said his part and then ran back to his seat. What happy parents we were...at least he said it...even with his eyes closed.
Now, singing didn't go so well for him. The kids did great, I was so pleased. But Adam would go stand by his friend Jayden...there was a reason they put two girls between them when they were sitting...the two of them played or he ducked down behind the stand. But once in awhile he actually sang.
Overall though it was very good and we were very happy parents. :)
(In fact, we got to set up Halloween today instead of next weekend since he did his part.)
